Poet and educator Mary Anna Dunn is the author of Letters to Littles' Mills and the director of The Enrichment Alliance of Virginia. She holds a BA in Psychology from Guilford College, an MA in English Literature, Language, and Pedagogy from the University of Virginia, and an Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Virginia. A native of North Carolina, Mary Anna has lived in the Virginia Blue Ridge since 1984. Magazines in which her poetry has appeared include Beltway Poetry Quarterly, Inkwell, Portside, New Millennium Writings, and Tar River Poetry. Her chapbook Letters to Littles’ Mills, released in 2018 by Finishing Line Press, weaves together letters to her planter ancestors with spirituals and original poetry as she imagines the horrors her family must have inflicted on their fellow human beings.
